Well drained fertile soil or loam based potting compost

Brugmansia, commonly known as the Datura (Angels Trumpet) are best planted in well drained, fertile soil. For best results plant in a large tub and bring on in a sunny sheltered spot to get the maximum flowers.
They are not winter hardy outdoors but can be easily kept over winter in a greenhouse or indoors. In Holland, where winters are more severe than the UK, they have become very popular and are a tremendous sight in their full glory.
