Plant Size

- Deadhead as required to encourage further growth spurts.
- 45cm
Planting
Plant at approx 10cm deep.
Soil Type
Well drained/light soil
Unpack immediately upon arrival and give them a little water if needed. If potting up into containers, use a balanced compost (that is not too peaty) as it is inclined to produce a hard crust if allowed to dry. Dahlia tubers can be planted 10cm deep in fertile well drained soil, outdoors in spring when the frost has disappeared. They prefer to be in a sunny location and spaced at approximately 45cm apart. We recommend a John Innes Compost No 2.
In areas where there is extreme cold, dig up dahlias and store in a cool peat over the winter. Apply a high potash fertiliser every few weeks in the summer to help growth and they can be dead headed when necessary. Water freely during the growing season and make sure to dead-head regularly to prolong flowering.
